AI enablement & governance

AI your board can sign off: governance, then training, then a first use case.

In most organisations the immediate issue is several hundred people using public AI tools with no guidance and no agreed position on it.

What you get

  • An AI governance framework fitted to your regulatory context
  • Organisation-wide training, pitched separately for leadership and for staff
  • One first machine learning use case, scoped and built
  • A twelve-month roadmap with decision points
  • A readiness assessment across strategy, data and technology, and people and process
Who it is for
Organisations in regulated or safeguarding contexts; leadership teams who need a defensible position; investors checking whether a portfolio company's AI claims survive contact with its data.
Shape and duration
Typically four to eight weeks, or as the final phase of a larger platform engagement.
Tooling I have delivered on
  • Microsoft Copilot Studio
  • Azure AI
  • Google Gemini
  • Retrieval-augmented generation
  • EU AI Act
  • ISO 42001
  • UK GDPR

Governance

In a safeguarding or regulated setting, the question is whether the organisation knows what staff are putting into these tools. The framework has to be specific enough to answer real questions from real staff.

  • An AI governance framework written for your regulatory and safeguarding context
  • Clear rules on what may and may not go into a public tool, in language staff will follow
  • A register of use cases with an owner and a risk position for each
  • Where relevant, mapping to the EU AI Act and ISO 42001

Training, then a first use case

Training comes before any build, because the fastest return on AI in most organisations is several hundred people using it a little better. The first machine learning use case follows, chosen for value.

  • Training pitched separately at leadership and at everyone else
  • One first use case, scoped, built and measured
  • A twelve-month roadmap with decision points

The readiness assessment

If you are earlier than that, the assessment is the starting point: a structured review across three areas, ending in a go, no-go or not-yet.

  • Strategy: are the goals defined, is leadership aligned, is it clear which problems come first
  • Data and technology: is the data accessible and good enough to support what is proposed
  • People and process: do staff have the skills, and are the processes ready to change

Proof

Contracted, not yet delivered

The governance framework, training, first use case and roadmap are contracted as the final phase of a current charity engagement and had not started at the point of writing. The readiness assessment behind it comes from running a company-wide AI readiness review inside a global professional services firm.

Staff already using AI without guidance?

That is the common case and it is fixable quickly. A call will tell you whether you need a framework, training, or a one-page rule.
